Mark Paul Yu, a BS Computer Science II student from Computer Communication Development Institute, wins Gold Medal in the IT Software Solutions for Business category during the Philippine National Skills Competition on March 27-31, 2023.
Region V, with Paul Yu as a competitor, snatches the most coveted Gold Medal in the category with a total of 762 Competition Information System (CIS) points. Angelo B. Joaquin from Comteq Computer and Business College, Region III bags Silver Medal with 733 CIS points. Rochelle Mae U. Carino from Lyceum of the Philippines University, Region IV-A earns Bronze with 720 CIS points.
Yu will represent the Philippines in the World Skills ASEAN Competition in Singapore this July 22-27, 2023. If he secures Gold in the ASEAN Competition, he will represent the country in World Skills Competition in France.
Yu is the 4th Gold Medalist from CCDI Sorsogon, following the footsteps of Aldrin Deterala (Gold Medalist – Philippine National Skills Competition 2021, Competitor in World Skills Competition Special Edition in South Korea 2022), Cymon Nezortado (Gold Medalist – Philippine National Skills Competition 2017, Competitor in ASEAN Skills Competition Thailand), and Joven Hayagan (Gold Medalist – Philippine National Skills Competition; Silver Medalist – ASEAN Skills Competition 2016 Malaysia; Gold Medalist – China International Competition 2017; Medallion of Excellence Awardee – World Skills Competition 2017 Abu Dhabi; Gold Medalist – World Skills Competition (Special Edition) Russia).
