Aldrin Deterala, Region 5 representative and a student of CCDI Sorsogon bags gold in the IT Software Solutions for Business category in the currently held Philippine National Skills Competition sponsored by TESDA last December 13 – 16, 2021.
Placing silver was Ulysses Avellano with 769 Competition Information System (CIS) points from the University of Cebu, Region 7 while bronze was Wayne Christian Santiago with 703 CIS score from the Lyceum Polytechnic University of Region IV A.
Aldrin garnered 790 CIS points or a percentage score of 99.7%.
Deterala, a 3rd year BSIT student of CCDI Sorsogon was coached by Edward Reyes with trainers Elvin Manuel Luces and Junnel Fadrilan. Prior to the national competition, he was also declared champion in the provincial and regional level, respectively as part of the elimination process.
Aldrin will now represent the Philippines in the World Skills Competition which will be held in Shanghai, China in September, 2022.
World Skills is a competition in various trade areas which aim to promote global competitiveness of the labor force in the whole world as it fosters solidarity and cooperation among the different nations.
